Man on a Mission: Richard Garriott’s Road to the Stars

Our feature documentary about Richard Garriott becoming the first son of an astronaut to go to space. Winner of SXSW Best Documentary and now available to watch on Amazon Prime: Click here: Man on a Mission

Richard Garriott is the first son of an astronaut to go to space. And our film takes you on the entire ride — from training at NASA and Star City, Moscow to the International Space Station to a fiery descent through the atmosphere back home. Richard’s dad was a NASA astronaut on Skylab in the 70’s but Richard’s journey would be quite different. Poor eyesight set him on a path to pursue private space travel. Twenty-five years — and $30 million — later he made it. This is an inspirational story to share with your kids. Because Richard shows that if pursue your dreams you can make anything come true — even a trip to the stars.

DVD Extras (even though there is no DVD!)

After Richard’s return we wanted to follow up on some of the excitement and subjects that came up during his flight. We sat down with Richard and got to talk about some of the big questions like: Was that pyro-bolt gonna blow up upon re-entry? What was it like hosting the first art show in space? And, wait, does Richard own the moon??

Our awesome poster won Best Poster” at SXSW that year. Designed by Michael Anderson, who also designed the graphics throughout the film.
