About B+P Cycling
We are a random group of people who like to ride bikes. Some of us are still serious racers, most of us casual riders or ex-racers. We’re mostly a bunch of guys hovering dangerously around middle-age but not willing to pack it in and play golf just yet.
Most of us have a real jobs and/or families. Some still shave their legs. One or two race for other teams as well as Team B+P. As a team, we’ll race as much as we want, we’ll definitely do a few charity rides per year, and our pre-ride carb-loading regimen will include a mandatory outing to the Draught House.
In no particular order, the 2010 members of Team Beef and Pie are:
Stewart Stafford (four-time State MTB Champion; 3rd place at Masters’ Worlds; La Ruta finisher)
Beto Boggiano (owner of Pure Austin, supporter of all things cycling; four-time Leadville finisher)
Joey Machado (local cyclocross specialist, La Ruta finisher)
Kirk Drummond (international adventure racer)
Richard Whittington (ex-racer who, amongst other things, has ridden his bike from Austin to California and Austin to Mexico City)
John Baxendale (Chupacabra finisher, Draught House mainstay)
Colin Wallis (Lance Armstrong Foundation; 3-time Ironman finisher, including 1st ever off-road IM. 3-time DirtyDuathlon Clydesdale champ USBA Natty (that’s National, to you state chumps) Champion BMX title in ’83)
Andrew Yates (La Ruta finisher; 6-time Leadville finisher; two-time Masters State MTB Champion).
Adam Butler (Butler Bros., bike commuter, avid cyclist)
Andy Austin (yes, we have a federal judge on the team, and the fastest-guy-with-no-training we know of)
Chris Felts (roadie, humorist, troublemaker)
Matt Sjoberg (…who, on his 50th birthday, and despite the fact that he had never ridden a mountain bike, raced - and finished - La Ruta)
Our soigneur is the good Doctor (and B+P director) Mike Woolf who will be dishing out the pharmaceutical training aids, clean urine and an abundance of home brew as part of his proven training program. Dr. Ferrari look out!
